Western Chutes® defines perfection in our intake door designs. All of our doors bear a UL 1-1/2 hour 250º “B” label for installation into both masonry and drywall applications. Our 1″ pan type intake doors are fabricated of type 302/304 Stainless Steel and use our silent hydraulic closure system ensuring a slow closing positive latching action eliminating noise and injuries. Intake door closures are located out of the flow of material to ensure a long life. All intake door frames are fabricated of steel angle which is fully welded and prime painted. Mounting flanges are made with elongated holes providing plenty of field adjustment. Intake doors include Stainless Steel trim embossed “RUBBISH” or “SOILED LINEN” and are available with standard or ADA compliant locking lever handle and electrical interlocks. All doors have replaceable door panels, latches, and closures ensuring the lowest possible maintenance costs.

Bottom Hinged Hand Operated Intake Doors are used on chutes handling rubbish/trash or linen. The door opens a full 510 to provide a convenient slide hopper opening with side checks to reduce spillage. “V” backed intakes can be furnished to restrict the size of material loaded into the chute, eliminating long oversize objects from clogging offsets or jamming the discharge. Rubber baffles are available to reduce back-draft and protect from debris. Electrical interlocking doors allow a single chute door to open at a time, or to lock all doors for service, changing of trash or linen bins, etc.
Bottom-hinged, self-closing, positive latching 1½-hour UL labeled chute intake door assemblies come complete with trim. Intake doors include choices of ADA compliance, handle, latch, hinge, mounting frame, and closer. All intake doors have a brushed stainless steel finish for long life and easy maintenance. Some self-close doors come enclosed in a heavy-duty box mounted outside the trash opening while others are exposed. Bottom-hinged intake doors are traditionally hand-operated, though can be installed with electrical interlocks to allow remote lockout and single door operation, providing safety during peak usage periods. All intake doors come with brushed stainless steel trim available blank or with embossed labeling and are proudly made in the USA or Canada by Union Craftsmen.
This traditional door design has been in use for over 50 years and has set the standard.
